Pania Yanjie Mu is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of East Asian Art History, Heidelberg University. She received her PhD from the Faculty of Architecture at The University of Hong Kong and is also an architect and landscape architect.

 Her first book From Temples to Garden Estates and Academies: Landscape Transformation of Suzhou during the 13-16th Centuries and Beyond, which is under contract with Routledge Press, is scheduled for publication at the end of 2024.  She has participated in various design projects in Nanjing, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and Germany.
